When the Lord Speaks

Say HiThe most important interest of God is the saving of souls that are lost. It is disheartening to say the truth that many churches have neglected this concern of God to win souls. We run now after money and things that should be tools for the most important task. But after getting these tools, we forget about the main task and gloat in the machinery and not in the obedience of the word of the Master, Jesus.Matthew 28: 18-20 reads, ‘‘All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go ye, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things what so ever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you even to the end of the age’’. This is the last word and testimony of the Chief Commander of the Church.Ikoyi Baptist Church must be more committed in Evangelizing our Jerusalem (our Catchment areas) and go beyond to Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth. I know we cannot do this without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Is the Holy Spirit leading IBC? I believe He is. What then is stopping us in ‘Power Evangelism’? Why are we timid in reaching out to our new neighbours living in the high rise buildings? People of God, I challenge you to uphold the commands of our Lord in obedience to this main task. We shall experience the ever presence of Jesus who is a covenant keeping God.Let us not only give and pray. We must go out too. Jesus Christ said, wait and receive the promised anointing of the Holy Spirit. But after the receiving, Jesus said ‘GO.’ Waiting will be dangerous because it is not in compliance with the agenda of the Holy Spirit. Let the Spirit move you in His direction. You will not only feel safe, but greatly fulfilled also. Let us GO, therefore, and make the kingdom of this earth the Kingdom of our GOD.
