When the NT introduced world-first euthanasia laws

30 years ago (July 1, 1996) the Northern Territory became the first place in the world where eligible terminally-ill patients could access a medically-assisted death. Four people accessed the laws, before the legislation was scuttled at the federal level just nine months later.
