When the Past Still Hurts Today

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

When the Past Still Hurts Today The past can sometimes feel like a shadow that lingers over us, even when we desperately wish it would fade. The memories of hurt, pain, or regret can rise to the surface, even years after the event. It's easy to feel trapped, as though the past is holding us back from living fully today. But in these moments, it's important to remember that God is bigger than our past. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." God doesn't just leave us to deal with our pain alone—He is present in our sorrow, offering His healing touch. While it's natural to feel the weight of our past wounds, we are not meant to carry them forever. Jesus invites us to bring our burdens to Him. Matthew 11:28 says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."Rest isn't just physical—it's emotional, spiritual, and healing for the soul. Though the past may still hurt today, God's love offers us the strength to move forward. His grace is greater than the pain we carry. Trust in His ability to heal what has been broken.
