When to Go Home

from The Adventure Paradox · host Cat Caldwell Myers

In this podcast episode, I do a deep dive in to what it means to be at home, and when and how you can go there, regardless of wherever you find yourself in time and space. The day after Mother's Day I am feeling a little off, honestly. I had a great time with my family and some wonderful friends who stopped by, for the inaugural camping trip in our new dream horse trailer - that was all great! But our brand new truck failing two hours in to towing, 49 miles from home on a rainy Friday night was a stressful kick off to the weekend, and I am still processing what happened and trying to carry on with life as usual with only one vehicle today.Meanwhile, our elderly dog, Chadeaux, has been struggling with signs of kidney failure, and we are giving her lots of extra care right now. Still, she looked like it might be time on Saturday, and this was terribly traumatic, but I realized that if it was time, she would want to go at home with us and made the necessary arrangements to be ready for that. I now have the number for "A Gentle Goodbye," an at home euthanasia group for animals in my phone.  Happily, she made a comeback!Breakdowns, death, and injuries are just a part of life. Amy Purdy knows this better than anyone and invited her Self Acceptance group to Give Ourselves Grace this week. I am also giving Chrysler grace as they figure out what happened to our truck and thank God above for another day on earth where I got to sleep at home.If you want some inspiration, follow @amypurdygurl and her perspective on how ironically she became an Olympic snowboarder after she lost her legs!If you want to reflect more deeply on your life, sign up for my free meditation on my website: www.catcaldwellmyers.comReady to work with me?
