Every person is fighting something, and what you reach for first in the battle matters more than you think. In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat faced three armies marching toward him and made a deliberate choice to seek God rather than rely on his own strategy. He prayed with honesty, admitting he did not know what to do, but kept his eyes fixed on God. Worship is not just singing. It is the posture of a heart that turns toward God in dependence and surrender. Jehoshaphat sent singers ahead of his army, and as they praised, God fought the battle for them. The enemy destroyed itself, and God's people came home with more than they left with. Worship changes the war inside of us before God changes the circumstances around us.
