when you actually get cancelled

from Queersplaining

A full transcript of this episode is available here There's been a lot of talk about cancel culture lately. Its the 21st century version of the Satanic Panic. There was an open letter released by Harpers Magazine decrying this new climate of what they called censorship and suppression of views that diverge from the mainstream. They never get too specific. But when you see the names of the people who signed this open letter, their actual meaning becomes pretty clear pretty quick. My new friend Dawn has some feelings about that. She came out as trans and *actually* became the target of the sort of thing the signatories of this letter imagine they're experiencing.
