When You are Weary, Keep Going (Epilogue 3): Galatians 6:9-10: Day 24

Faithfulness matters even when we can't yet see the fruit of it. One of the themes we've returned to again and again in 1 Peter is perseverance.Peter wrote to people who were suffering, waiting, misunderstood, and trying to remain faithful in circumstances they couldn't control. His message wasn't, "Everything will be easy."It was:Keep going. Stay faithful. Trust God.Paul gives us that same encouragement in Galatians:"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."I think some of us need that reminder today because sometimes the hardest part of faith isn't knowing what is right. It's continuing to do what is right when we're tired of waiting for something to change. It's continuing to pray when we haven't seen the answer. Continuing to love when we've been hurt. Continuing to serve when we're exhausted. Continuing to trust when we're disappointed.That's where perseverance becomes faith. You don't have to feel strong to keep going. You just have to keep taking the next faithful step.And Paul gives us a promise:Don't give up.There is a harvest you cannot see yet.Reflection:  Where are you most tempted to grow weary or give up right now, and what would taking one more faithful step look like?
