When You Give Part 2, Metthew 6:1-4

Matthew 6:1-4 God's Provision is given presently so we have something to return in the future The Big Question What does God want returned from His provisions? The set up Matthew 24:3 - As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? Matthew 24:36 - But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:44 - So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Matthew 24:45-46 -  Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. The Parables 1. Ten Virgins - Matthew 25:1-13  = The prepared servant 2. The Talents - Matthew 25:14-30 = The diligent servant 3. The sheep & goats - Matthew 25:31-46 = The ministering servant Does God want more money?  Yes & No Matthew 22:19-22 -  Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?” 21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” 22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away. People are The currency of Heaven Does God want more buildings?  Yes & No 1 Corinthians 3:16 - Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
