(For X or Y insert any behavior you don't like, e.g., cheat, be a stay at home parent, stay in a sexless marriage, be religious, not be religious, engage in certain sexual acts, or whatever else.) Closedmindedness is one of the biggest obstructions to true intimacy, because it precludes empathy.
