Psalm 13 captures one of the most human cries in all of Scripture: “How long, O Lord?” Faith is not the absense of questions -it's bringing our questions to God. David doesn’t sanitize his emotions but he names them. He feels forgotten, unheard, and overwhelmed. This psalm shows us that spiritual maturity is not the absence of struggles, but the willingness to bring our struggles directly to God. Because lament does not mean weakness; it is a form of deep, relational trust. And the repetition of “How long?” reveals that waiting is often the hardest part of faith—especially when God seems silent.
