Don't ruin a good today by thinking of a bad yesterday. I want to take another chance, but it scares me like crazy. But the cost. Come on.
Is much higher than the benefit of taking the chance again. This is perhaps the first time I'm going to quote William Shakespeare in this podcast. Cowards die many times before their deaths. The valiant never taste of death.
But once. Your source of courage. C O U R A G E Number one Conviction. Once you make a decision, a lot of your fear is thrown out of the window.
I mean, for how long, we don't know. So deciding which literally means cutting off all other options is a powerful source of courage. Not enough in itself, but nevertheless a breakthrough. Is it God's will for your life?
Conviction is a great source of courage. Next is optimism. Christian Cain Sometimes when you think you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but you've actually been planted. See, when your perspective is that in spite of this or despite that, you know it will get better and the willingness to go through all the dirt will not wane until you dig out the gold.
Stay optimistic. That's a source of courage. You unencumbered decisions. Unencumbered.
What does that mean? Without burden, without heaviness. To be unencumbered means there is no baggage. How can you take a second chance at business if several issues with your previous investors have not been settled?
Your next partnerships have nothing to do with your ex hardships. Okay, so make sure your decisions are un encumbered. Next, your risk appetite. That's a source of courage.
Well, the level of risk. Are you high? Risk averse? Are you moderate?
Are you low? See, depending on your level, you will need support to carry you through. Some just need a nudge, right? Because they have a low risk aversion to chances they take.
Others will need an entire church praying for them. Are you willing to lose all for what you can possibly gain? Risk Appetite Another source Is alternative options? Are there better courses of actions?
Is staying in your present job giving you needed stability? That diving into full time entrepreneurship is not worth it? Or is the option to stay in your company a death sentence? Do you have nothing to lose by trying?
Or is it too much to lose if you fail? Look at alternative options and you will find more courage. Look at your goals. A sprinter focused on the finish line overcomes the fear of seeing runners alongside him in the starting line.
See Whatever consumes you, rules you E Equipping, see? Finally, courage. E Whatever backup you need as you take this chance, settle it. Set aside those aces up your sleeve.
Train, upgrade, relearn, maybe unlearn. And you don't have to say. When you're certain you need to take the chance, but you don't have what it takes to see it through, then you know a community is needed to help you and to equip you. God works through others, my friend, to bless you.
Not everyone, but anointed ones, appointed ones. Often it is He Himself who carries you. In 2 Corinthians 12:10, what does Paul say? When I'm weak, that's an opportunity.
When I'm weak, that's an opportunity for God. Then I'm strong, see? And it is not I. In Galatians 2:20, Paul says, but he who lives within me.
Equipping by him, for me is the biggest source of courage. C O U R A G E Conviction, optimism, unencumbered decision, risk, appetite, alternative options, goals and equipping.
