As we near the end of our season, we find ourselves at our final destination and most southern health facility in the Far West Local Health District, Balranald.The township of Balranald is nestled on the beautiful Murrumbidgee River, and is famously known as the gateway to the “Five Rivers” region, as the town sits just upstream from where the Murrumbidgee converges with the Murray River.   The Balranald region has five rivers that run through it, the Murrumbidgee, Murray, Wakool, Edward and Lachlan Rivers.   The region is highly regarded for its local waterways and outdoor attractions, including the nearby Yanga National Park and the culturally significant World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park.Today in the studio we are joined by Angeline Vogel, Health Service Manager at Balranald Multipurpose Service.  Hear about Angeline’s Health journey, what makes Balranald such a special place to work, and why Angeline just can’t leave.Hosted by Heidi Drenkhahn and produced by Juanita White for the Far West Local Health District.Listener discretion is advised, as episodes may discuss or name Indigenous people who are deceased.
