Where to be and what to see: The Cody Sisters

from The Mountain-Ear Podcast · host The Mountain-Ear Staff

Megan (guitar, mandolin, and vocals) and Maddie Cody (guitar, clawhammer banjo, vocals, and primary songwriting) have been joined at the hip as siblings for their entire lives. They started playing guitar together when their dad introduced them to the instrument when Maddie was six and Megan was eight. Soon after, they performed their first show at a local coffee shop, and they’ve been playing ever since. Their dad used to play bass with them, but a few years ago, once they went to college, the duo met Will Pavilonis, a jazz bass major at Denver University. From there, The Cody Sisters as they are now were formed. Our theme song is courtesy of singer-songwriter Brittney Wagner. Stream her record Better off Dead here.
