Where's My Place

from Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church · host WEPC

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12:7 Having been around the hospital to visit parishioners, I’ve seen the highs and lows. I’ve also grown aware and appreciative of the intertwined complexities of the human body. People truly are beautifully and wonderfully made! As Paul writes to the Corinthians, he describes the body of believers in terms of a human body to show how everyone depends on one another. Each of us receives salvation from Christ as the Holy Spirit draws us to him. Coinciding with that salvation, we also receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. From there, salvation and the Spirit’s gifts are to be shared with the wider body. It’s the Holy Spirit that helps us to share the love of Jesus in the world, and each of us also has gifts to use for the benefit of others. We do that by bringing our gifts to the task of building up the body of Christ, the church, and by sharing God’s love with all the people around us. As we approach this Sunday, we’ll be unpacking the various gifts of the Spirit and how God calls us to use them to bless others. God is doing amazing things here at WEPC, and I’m excited to see how God will continue to bless our church and community as we discover (and use) or gifts!
