Where's Wilmington? - Ep 160: Lisa King

Motivating kids to read can be challenging and with the return to traditional in school learning, motivating students can be even more challenging. On this episode of Where's Wilmington, Lisa Kapala talks with Lisa King, Principal of the Shawsheen Elementary School about an unusual tool she's discovered to help students read more and be more fully engaged in the learning process. Mrs. King recently received a grant from the Wilmington Educational Foundation (WEF) to purchase a Book Vending Machine that students will use to select books to keep and read. After being given "tokens" based on merit and other criteria, students can visit "Inchy the Bookworm's Vending Machine" and select a special book of their choosing.
