Where's Your Growing Edge
from His24-7.com · host Rev. Joel D. McMahon III
Where’s Your Growing Edge? 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13 Paul want to visit the Thessalonians because he wants to help them with what is lacking in their faith. Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith. (1Thessalonians 3:10) He wants to do this because he wants them to be able to stand blameless before the Lord when He comes. To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. (1Thessalonians 3:13) The fact is we all have a growing edge in our journey of faith. That area where we’re called to be moving forward with the Lord. The question facing us today is the same as it was for the Thessalonians: Will we be able to stand blameless before the Lord? C. H Spurgeon said, “Conversion is a turning onto the right road. The next thing is to walk on it.” Just like the Thessalonians, we are on a journey of faith, and as Paul put it so well, we should be pressing on toward the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Have we gotten started? Are we still moving on with the Lord?
