Whet Keeps Me From Using My Spiritual Gift?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is truly amazing. Not only are we forgiven of our many sins by God's grace through the atoning death of Jesus, but we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit when we put our faith in Christ. The Holy Spirit is not only at work within us, transforming us into the image of Christ, but the Spirit is also at work through us to build up the body of Christ. With such an amazing gospel, why did Paul need to tell the church to use their spiritual gifts? Why wouldn't they be using their gifts as the natural overflow of their salvation?
