Send us Fan MailBy all prominent historical accounts, the National Organization for Women was founded in 1966 by Betty Friedan and several other women who met together in a hotel room at a women's conference that June. But there's a whole lot more to what happened before that hotel meeting (because, of course there is) that involves many foundational events and women that are not white.
