In this episode, we sit down with Bouffant Bouffant—DJ, producer, artist, promoter, and the community builder behind Gimme A Reason, one of New Orleans' defining alternative queer dance parties. Bouffant traces his journey from growing up queer in a small Cajun community to discovering music as both an escape and a way to connect. He shares how New Orleans nightlife, European club culture, warehouse parties, and the city's DIY spirit shaped his approach to DJing and organizing. The conversation explores more than a decade of Gimme A Reason, its home at Poor Boys, the challenges of building an underground dance scene, and the connections formed when different corners of New Orleans meet on the same dance floor. Bouffant also reflects on the legacy of the city's rave culture, performing in Berlin and across Asia, and his plans to make more music—and perhaps turn Gimme A Reason into a record label.
