WHITE SOX POSTGAME: White Sox Magic Strikes Again as Sam Antonacci Walk-Off Claims AL Central Lead!

The Chicago White Sox were revitalized by the return of Catcher Kyle Teel in Monday’s series opening win against the division rival Cleveland Guardians. Randal Grichuk went yard as a pinch hitter while Andrew Benintendi and Braden Montgomery each batted in a run in support of Anthony Kay who put forth his best start of the season. Kay pitched 6 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 singles while striking out 8 batters. But the Guardians stormed back with 3 runs in the 7th off of Grant Taylor to tie the game at 3. Fortune favored the Sox in the bottom half of the inning when a Sam Antonacci broken bat ground ball made it to the outfield after the 1st baseman was distracted by the splintered bat to make it 4-3 Sox. But in the top of the 9th, Seranthony Dominguez blew a save for the second-straight day, allowing 2 runs to score. In the bottom of the 9th, the ‘never say die’ White Sox did it again! Sam Antonacci singled up the middle to score a pair and win it for the Sox! The Sox re-take 1st place in the AL Central! How far away are further reinforcements in Munetaka Murakami and Noah Schultz?
