Who Are Michigan's New Defensive Coaches? | Michigan Football 2024

Sherrone Moore and Wink Martindale have finalized Michigan Football's defensive staff. Greg Scruggs, Brian Jean-Mary, and Stephen Adegoke have been hired as defensive assistants to replace the outgoing Mike Elston, Rick Minter, and Steve Clinkscale. Greg Scruggs coached the defensive line at Wisconsin last season and has won two Super Bowls as an NFL player while also reaching the CFP as the defensive line coach at Cincinnati. Brian Jean-Mary coached the linebackers at Tennessee last season and he has familiarity with Sherrone Moore, coaching with him on Michigan's 2020 football team in the same position. Finally, my favorite addition to this staff is Stephen Adegoke. Adegoke is young and last season was the safeties coach for Houston Texas. He has ties to Michigan's staff as he was a graduate assistant in 2021 and I think he will quickly rise through the ranks.
