Who Are You Without the Title? CEO of Brothers Empowerefd to Teach Larry Irvin on Success, Burnout, and Starting Over

What happens when the work that made you successful begins to cost you your health, identity, and peace? In this episode, I sit down with my brother Larry Irvin, founder of Brothers Empowered to Teach, for an honest conversation about ending an organization that placed more than 200 Black men in classrooms and helped reshape how the country sees Black male educators. From the outside, Larry was thriving. Behind the accolades, national recognition, and major funding, he was carrying the organization mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Larry opens up about burnout, grieving the end of something he spent 12 years building, and realizing that his work had become inseparable from his identity. We discuss why successful leaders sometimes need to stop, simplify their lives, and resist rushing into the next impressive opportunity.
