In this expansive talk, Neonn draws attention to the significance of Curation as the act of wielding the hammer of Art towards the shaping of society, by taking us on a journey that spans from prehistoric oral cultures thru the canonization of religious scriptures, the rise of literate industrial culture, coercive education & 20th-century mass media, emergent new age festival culture, & climaxing with some thoughts about the future of artificially intelligent content recommendation systems, & what Jason Silva calls the "engineering of serendipity" via augmented reality (i.e., contextually adaptive Curation). Along the way, he illuminates the ways in which our various communication technologies have influenced the proliferation & evolution of the dominant mythologies of each era in human history, & how the role of social engineering evolves along with society itself.
