Who do they serve?

from Nadine@9

It’s easy to think your civic duty is going to a polling place once every couple of years. But if that’s all you do, who will hold that elected official accountable for the way they represent you?For far too long we’ve allowed Missouri Representatives to operate how they want and not according to their constituents. We’ve allowed “Leadership” to become THE voice Reps listen to. There is no fear of God. There is no responsibility to the people. They’ve become a “family” of secrets that they’re bound to keep. I am the first to admit, I’ve neglected my true civic responsibility for the majority of my voting life. Naively assuming, if someone says they’re a “strong Christian Conservative”, then they’ll do what’s best and right for myself, my family and our state. 2024 showed me how off base that thought process is and how detrimental my lack of responsibility has become. NO. MORE.Join me, this year, in contacting your Representative and Senator more often; good or bad. And let’s stand together in faith that God’s might army will prevail once and for all over the evil that has held our Capitol hostage for far too long!“Look among the nations and see, wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.” -Habakkuk 1:5 Get full access to Nadine@9’s Substack at nadineat9.substack.com/subscribe

This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) HealthCall LIVE WOWO / Federated Media HealthCall LIVE with Lee Kelso is a summary of the weeks most interesting and useful health and medical news.
