It has become, in Western culture, a metaphor for anyone overcoming insurmountable odds to defeat an enemy.What is the story actually about? Is it about God coming to help us slay our giants, or is it about something else, much more foundational and life-changing? How would you answer the question of our sermon title? Who do you represent on earth?Do we compare our giant to ourselves or to God?Are we zealous for God’s glory or our own personal victories?Is our perspective today shaped by God’s faithfulness in the past?To whom does our battle belong?Do we have Jesus as our Champion?
