Who do you say I am? (Part 3) (Son of God) ”Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.“ Matthew 16:16-18 NKJV BINGO - you’ve got it right Peter ”Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.“ Matthew 17:1-8 NKJV Introduction  Verse 1: is happening 6 days later after the long conversation of who do people say I am, in Chapter 16 Peter confesses that Jesus is the Son of the leaving God Jesus speaks about His death on the cross and Peter reprimands Him  Jesus respond to satan speaking through Peter Tells His disciples to deny themselves and take up the cross to follow Him What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul After all these discussions, 6 days later Jesus Christ goes with 3 of His disciples to the mountain  You Are My Son ”While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”“ Matthew 17:5 NKJV This was the 2nd time, God declares that  Jesus is the Christ, Son of God.  The 1st time was at river Jordan after the baptism  Luke 3:22 NKJV God confirms His word by repeating it  Repeating and recapping is the way we get in-depth understanding  God confirm His Word God is pleased with Jesus before He performed any miracle (Luke 3:22) Sometimes we do things to try get the Love of God, God loved the world …(John 3:16) God loves Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America and Australasia.   God is encouraging us to listen to Jesus Christ Matthew 17:5. You can only listen to someone when they speak. Whatever is written in red in your Bible must be noted. Christians can only be truly blessed when they obey what Jesus Christ says.  Sometimes it’s doesn’t make sense to the flesh but believe it anyway, God has a way to reveal it. When He says forgive and love your enemies, it doesn’t make sense to our flesh which wants to revenge and get even. But there are always great results in following what He said. Our Father  Matthew 6:8-9 NKJV Jesus wants us to approach God our father. In order for you to know who you really are, you need to know who the Lord is.  Our identity is that we are Gods sons and daughters through Jesus Christ.  Pharisees had a different idea when it comes to this but Jesus knew who he was and God confirmed it over and over again. Conclusion  Luke 3:38 NKJV Jesus came to reconcile the 1st Adam’s generations back to God.  Adam was originally a Son of God, with all power and authority on earth   Adam lost it all when he disobeyed God  Romans 8:16-17 NKJV We have been reconciled with God through his Son Jesus dying on the cross  Romans 8:16-17 calls us brothers of Jesus Give your life to Him and join the family that calls God our Father and He calls us sons and daughters  Amen 🙏🏾
