Join us this week as Mike discusses who is at your table, exploring Jesus’ words in Luke 14 about places of honor and true hospitality. Jesus warns against seeking the highest seats, for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. He challenges hosts not to invite only those who can repay but the poor, crippled, lame, and blind, who will be repaid at the resurrection of the just. In the great banquet parable, many invited make excuses and miss out, while the master brings in the overlooked from the streets and highways to fill his house. This points to the kingdom feast for all who trust in the Lord for salvation, whose tears are wiped away and disgrace lifted. As those once spiritually poor and excluded yet invited by grace through Jesus’ own rejection, our tables can become a foretaste of that banquet.
