The Chicago Bears have hired Declan Doyle as their new offensive coordinator as the 28 year-old comes over from the Denver Broncos coaching staff. It’s a polarizing hire for Ben Johnson given Doyle’s age and not having a ton of experience, but he comes recommended from Sean Payton and Dan Campbell, 2 coaches Doyle has worked under. Doyle was a student assistant coach at Iowa, where his dad Chris Doyle was the long-time strength and conditioning coach before getting let go in 2020. Doyle then got hired by Sean Payton and the Saints in 2019 where he spent 4 seasons before Payton brought him to the Broncos in 2023 where he’s been the TE’s coach the past 2 years.
