Who Moved The Garbage Can? with Rachel Pitts

from Women Your Mother Warned You About

Gina is joined again today by the one and only Rachel Pitts! They start by talking about Rachel's latest snowboarding trip which is the perfect segue into the fear of failure and how focus, practice, frameworks, mindset, and routine help to conquer it. Leaning into the fear and taking action strips the power it has over you and builds confidence.  We all know what we've read in books and the advice we get, but all that can go out the window when you're in a fearful moment. They also reflect on keeping it simple. When you find a system that works, stick with it, and let it evolve naturally. Constant tweaking never lets you know exactly what is or isn't working. When you find it - practice and consistency are the key. They also discuss the idea of "finding the switch" that takes you into the zone of mental and or physical focus, finding things that make you smile to let yourself not get fixated on the negative or unimportant things around you, and how Rachel used a garbage can to help overcome her fear on the ski lift! Rachel Pitts is a mom, IFBB Fitness Pro, and Mental Management Coach. Her first career in dance spanned the stage, television, and film. Parallel to her dance career, Rachel pursued fitness as a group instructor and personal trainer, racking up 20+ years of experience in how the human body moves and functions. Most recently, Rachel also entered the bodybuilding industry, where she earned her IFBB Pro Card in fitness division. She found that the Mental Management System is perfect for handling the pressure of the competitive arena and became a Mental Management Coach. Mental Management is the process of improving the probability of having a consistent mental performance under pressure, on demand. Rachel has also spent 10+ years in the real estate and mortgage industry and was also one of the original co-hosts of WYMWYA with Gina for the first 3 years of the podcast.
