Sir Ernest Shackleton was an explorer from a time when there were many unexplored places on our great planet. He was also a different kind of leader for the time and was not only known for his adventures but also his unusual leadership style. He was the type of man who kept his word and ensured the safety and happiness of the men he lead on his expeditions. From a young age he felt the need leave the safety of a conventional life and explore. He spent time aboard sailing ships, a tramp steamer, military ships and, of course, his famous ship the Endurance. In this episode, Alex and Kelly look at the life of Ernest Shackleton and the impact he still has on the world today.
