Who Will Fill Cash Jones' Void | Georgia Bulldogs Football News

Georgia’s search for a new third-down back is heating up as Cash Jones’ departure leaves a critical void. Coach Kirby Smart stresses that the ideal candidate must be a reliable pass catcher first—and a solid blocker second—highlighting the need for route recognition, adaptability, and clutch performances. With Jones’ two-year dominance helping Georgia rank 32nd nationally in third-down conversions, the pressure is on. Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens, Dwight Phillips Jr., Bo Walker, and true freshman Jae Lamar are all in the mix, making this a fierce, season-long competition to fill the role—and keep Georgia’s offense humming.
