Whoever Has Seen Me Has Seen the FatherJesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip?Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? - John 14 verse 9. Jesus was just hours away from the cross. These were serious, intimate moments with His disciples. And right in the middle of it, Philip asks a question that reveals a lack of understanding: “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”Jesus responds, not with anger, but with a gentle sadness: “Have I been with you so long, and you still don’t know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”This answer is incredibly powerful. Jesus is saying, you don’t need to look to the skies or wait for a mystical sign to know God. If you want to know what God is like—look at Me. The Son is the perfect revelation of the Father.For over three years, these men had walked with Jesus. Yet they still hadn’t grasped the full truth—they were in the presence of God in human flesh.Jesus came not just to talk about God, but to reveal Him. He is the bridge between heaven and earth. When He touched the lepers, forgave sinners, welcomed children, cried with the grieving, and stood against religious hypocrisy—He was showing us the heart of the Father.Today, many still ask what Philip asked: “What is God really like? Where is He?” And Jesus still answers: “Look at Me.” In Christ, we see the compassion of God, the strength of God, the humility of God, and the deep love of God—all in one.So if you want to know God—not just know about Him, but really know Him—start with Jesus. Walk with Him through the Gospels. Talk to Him in prayer. Let His life reshape your picture of God. Because to see Jesus… is to see the Father.
