“Why 40 Days? Waiting, Wilderness, and the Work of Preparation”

In this follow-up reflection to Sunday’s message on Acts 1:1–11, Pastor Matt Ayars explores the significance of the 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Why did Jesus wait? What do the biblical patterns of 40 days and 40 years teach us about the Christian life?Drawing from Exodus, the Gospels, and Revelation, Pastor Matt unpacks the meaning of waiting as a season of preparation—not just for the disciples, but for us today. This episode weaves together themes of inaugurated eschatology, spiritual formation, and missional readiness, reminding us that we live in the tension between what Christ has already accomplished and what we still long to see fulfilled.Whether you’re in a season of patience, wrestling with delay, or seeking clarity on the Spirit’s timing, this episode offers theological depth and pastoral encouragement for the journey.📖 Scripture Focus: Acts 1:1–11🕊️ Theme: Waiting and Preparing for the Holy Spirit🎙️ Speaker: Dr. Matt Ayars, Wellspring ChurchDon’t forget to subscribe and share!#Pentecost #HolySpirit #Acts1 #ChristianFormation #WaitingWell #InauguratedEschatology #WellspringChurch #MattAyars #SpiritualGrowth #ChurchLife
