from The Afters Podcast · host ParalegallyBlonde

We're not limiting ourselves in 2024! Exploring the heart racing genres of Tech house and techno, Awood joins the squad to chat their evolution through sound, learning to DJ on vinyl in 2024, mastering patience and appreciating the moment we're in! Enjoy the positive energy that radiates off this incredible artist! Today, AWood pays respect to the music that changed their life by curating sets that take the dancefloor on a white-knuckled ride of anticipation and euphoria with their transgressive selection of techno, house, trance, and beyond. AWood has brought their distinct sound to events across Canada, playing extended sets in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Notable recent performances include Shambhala Music Festival 2022, supporting Daria Kolosova at her Vancouver debut and Vel at her Toronto Debut. From the studio, their recent self releases include two Techno/Trance EPs “Up Never Down” and “Make it Rain" along with several singles. They released their "Alchemy" EP on Canadian label Emergent, and a house single "Running Away" on Chicago-based label Sollors Systems over the past year. AWood enjoys paying it forward and growing the local scene by volunteer teaching in their home studio. Officially clocked out, join Blondie (aka DJ ParalegallyBlonde) & her bestie Mazen for a rambunctious yet thoughtful discussion about their wild weekends in Vancouver, and the growing electronic music scene. Vancouver’s music scene is quickly emerging onto the global stage at an exponential pace, and what better way to learn about all the players contributing to its success is ‘After Hours’! An interview style podcast, the dynamic duo sit down with DJs, producers, artists and industry leaders to chat all about creativity, passion, music and nightlife. They chat about their musical focused ventures, current industry news & highlight music that they love, hate and everything in between.
