Why China-Egypt ties matter?

This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Egypt, at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The two presidents held talks on Wednesday. President Xi raised a four-point proposal on building a new Middle East security architecture through upholding a vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security. The two countries released a joint statement on deepening comprehensive strategic partnership. They expressed appreciation for bilateral collaboration on infrastructure, transport, energy and other fields. We look into the potential of blooming relations between China and Egypt.
