Our deacon William Roberts filled in for Pastor Kirk this morning. Today we covered an overview of many scriptures on why Christ came to earth and what that meant for believers. Even though we deserved condemnation, Jesus did not come to condemn but to save the lost. Jesus saved us that we might live in Him. Jesus came to bless us by turning us away from our sin. Jesus was sent to preach the kingdom of God with the authority given to Him by God. Christ has the authority and instructed us that if we love Him, keep His commandments. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. He came not to do His will, but the will of the Father. Jesus humbled Himself. What does Christ coming mean for us? Because Christ came, scripture's prophecy has been fulfilled. We are no longer broken hearted, but have hope. As the Father has sent Jesus, Jesus also sends you. Jesus calls us to be reconciled to God and to be His ambassadors.
