Why Democrats Must Sign a Pledge to Demand Hand Recounts

I PLEDGE TO FIGHT FOR YOU!!! Upgrade at 30% offPerhaps the most disappointing thing about the 2024 election was how the Democrats rolled over without a fight. The biggest fight happened in North Carolina where the Republican candidate for Supreme Court tried to throw out 60,000 votes so he could steal a win.The Democrats fought that one, though the corruption was so blatantly obvious that it was clear something had to be done. But I have issue with the fact that it takes such an extreme case for Democrats to find their spine.Yes, it's disgusting for Republicans to try to disqualify 60,000 votes.But as far as I'm concerned, it's equally disgusting when they try to disqualify 1.From what I've seen, Democrats are content to shrug and say, “That's politics,” when a handful of voters are disenfranchised. The problem with that attitude is that if you let Republicans toss 1 vote away, they'll come back and toss 2 the next time.In the last election, they tried to throw away 60,000. That's what we know of. We only know about it because they didn't succeed and it was in an election that the Democrats appeared to have won.What about the races where Republicans appeared to have won? How often is it the case that those “victories” are only illusions created through the unlawful disqualification of ballots?It's stunning to me that Democrats can get the fleece pulled over their eyes through such an obvious con. Even after an attempted coup and decades of right-wing lies, the Democrats still can't accept that they're dealing with criminals?Multiple Republicans have been sent to jail for election fraud. But every time one of these dishonest actors is displaced from their positions of power, three more rise to take their place. Democrats still act like it's an isolated event.Hello! It's not “isolated” cheating. Cheating is the Republican's fundamental strategy. They lie, they cheat, they steal, they thump the Bible, and they resort to violence when they don't get their way.Democrats sit in the corner and go, “Oh well...” But then they go back to their mansions in gated communities and it's the rest of us who have to bear the brunt of their unwillingness to fight for us.The big issue from the last few years has been the label of “election denier.” For some reason, that label can only be applied to Democrats. It's as if everyone in our society has come to accept that Republicans are too far gone, so there's no point in even criticizing them. So, we criticize the Democrats instead.The Democrats, to their discredit, have accepted this injustice and appear happy to go along with it.“We don't want to be seen as election deniers!”But for the love of God, you can't roll over and let elections be stolen either. I mean this is common sense. Don't all our top politicians have ivy league degrees? Shouldn't they know that this is pretty obvious?You have to go through the motions of fighting for the people. If you clearly roll over every time things get hard, you are going to see your approval rating tank.Kamala Harris was a prosecutor. Throughout the entire election cycle I was absolutely confident that she knew she was up against a criminal and she was just getting ready to slam the hammer down. Here I was innocently thinking, “Well, they knew he was going to cheat, so they let him cheat so now they can bust him.”But... no.She has faced down hardened criminals! How was it that she was pressured to roll over when confronted by the soft piece of soggy bread who is currently occupying the white house?I mean, everyone knows that the United States of America is racist and misogynist. Naturally, an entitled old rich white man was going to try to steal a Black woman's victory. That's literally happened hundreds of times on every page of American history.Every. Single. Page.But we went into the 2024 election with the attitude of, “Well, maybe this time it will be different.”What?They sent us email after email asking for donation after donation. To their credit, the people responded! She raised over 1 billion dollars!“Help us fight for you!”“Help us fight for you!”“Help us fight for you!”But the moment the fight started... “We concede.”Now vans are driving around the country and masked men are jumping out to abduct children. There's no federal response to natural disasters. They've built a concentration camp in Florida and that's likely only the first. Every day they erode a few more Constitutional protections.It's costing us billions of dollars.It will end up costing us millions of lives.Gee... maybe it would have been worth the effort to call for a couple recounts?The way you win politically in the United States is by seizing control of the narrative. The sad truth is that the Democratic concession happened decades before November of 2024. They've just rolled over and allowed malicious Republicans to pump lies into the brains of our population.“The Democrats are election deniers!” they scream.Democrats reply with, “We are not. In fact, to prove it, we'll let you get away with stealing an election. At least then you can't call us election deniers any more!”The Republicans just lick their chops and go, “Watch us.”What we need if we're ever going to stop all the injustice and people dying and theft of trillions of dollars in taxpayer money, is a political party that's willing to FIGHT for the PEOPLE!The Republicans claim they're fighting for the people, but they're only fighting for themselves. Millions of people are so desperate to see any kind of fight, that they support the Republicans out of confused frustration.All the Democrats have to do is fight. They don't even have to win. Just fight! Please fight for us!Start off by fighting for control of the narrative. When they send their emails asking for donations, offer a pledge to recount all elections.“Election integrity is critical to the survival of a democracy. We pledge to demand recounts so that the American public can rest assured that the result was legitimate.”That's not an unreasonable thing to say. Also, it discourages cheating because the Republicans have been warned that if they try anything shady, it's going to be discovered.Again, wake up Democrats! You're not dealing with statesmen. You're dealing with criminals and con artists who are hurting us.FIGHT FOR US! The Republicans are KILLING us!
