Why Do I Need To Forgive Anyway?

In the first message of the “Forgiven” series, Pastor Hurmon reminds us that we need forgiveness because good people mess up sometimes. Luckily for us, forgiveness is always available and the bigger the sin, the bigger the gift of forgiveness we receive from God. Pastor Hurmon uses the story of Nathan confronting David on the sins he committed to highlight the deception of sin, the necessity of confession and the assurance of forgiveness. Although tempting in current times, closing your eyes to God’s morality and the consequences of sin does not mean they cease to exist. It is good news that God doesn’t leave us alone when we mess up so that we can go back to Him in repentance. Remember that God can take your mess and transform it into a message. Forgiveness restores us into wholeness and sets us free to live brand new lives.
