Why Do People Lie?

The final conversation in our deliverance series with Pastor Aaron! We have completed 16 episodes of the 16 strongholds and the deliverance we can find in Christ! What if the biggest lies we face are not the ones others tell us, but the ones we tell ourselves? This conversation digs into the spirit of lying and uncovers how deeply deception can take root in our minds, our relationships, and our sense of identity. We explore how self-deception works against us when the way we see ourselves does not line up with what God says about us. From exaggerating stories to win acceptance to carrying false guilt and shame that cheapens the work of the cross, the spirit of lying operates in far more areas of our lives than we might expect. The message is clear: anything hidden in darkness belongs to the enemy, and exposing those lies is not just an act of courage; it is a biblical mandate. We are reminded that Jesus identified the enemy as the father of all lies, meaning every accusation, every whispered suggestion that we are not worthy or free or capable, originates from a source that cannot speak truth. When we begin to align our declarations about ourselves with what God actually says, the bar rises, our identity shifts, and the enemy loses his grip. This is an invitation to stop agreeing with the lies and start standing in the truth of who we really are.
