Sometimes, a runny nose is a symptom of an easy-to-treat issue such as seasonal allergies. Other times, it’s a sign of a condition that needs veterinarian attention. A runny nose in puppies can be because of a serious condition called distemper. While puppies and younger dogs are able to overcome it, it’s important to ensure that when you get a new puppy they’ve had their full set of vaccines—which will include the puppy distemper vaccine.
