Why Emily Berge is the People's Choice for Congress in Wisconsin's 3rd District

I’ve been doing all I can to elevate anti-establishment candidates who are willing to work for the people rather than do the bidding of their corporate overlords.Emily Berge was the second candidate I talked to. I simply reached out to her campaign after seeing an advertisement on social media. I live in her district, so this campaign is special to me. I’ve gotten to know her very well.I’ll always remember one instance that turned me into a lifetime Emily Berge supporter. It happened during the horrific ICE deployment to the Twin Cities, shortly after the murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. My wife is an immigrant and over the last year I’ve often been fearful for her safety and the safety of my children at school.When protests became too much for ICE to handle in Minneapolis, they began to flee the city. Unfortunately, ICE started showing up in my community. I got word that they were planning a raid on our schools, so I kept my kids home for the day. My wife went in to work and it was constant stress until she came home.In something of a panic, I called up Emily. She was employed as the council president for Eau Claire at the time. She took my call and told me exactly what they had planned to ensure the safety of all our residents. During the course of a ten minute conversation, she significantly eased my concerns.When I got off the phone, I realized that I’d never previously even considered a reality where a politician would actually take your call and address your fears. Now I realize that’s not just the kind of representation we should demand, it’s what we deserve.The simple fact is that the United States government under Republican leadership has been tormenting the American public. The corporate owned Democrats have done little to stop that suffering. In fact, at every critical vote, enough Democrats always seem to defect from the party to ensure every cruel and anti-Constitutional initiative of the Republicans gets funded.The DNC sends strongly worded letters to criminals and authoritarians, and they only rouse themselves to real action when it comes to suppressing for-the-people progressives.In the interview I linked above, Emily talks about how she called Washington DC when she was thinking of running. She discusses how they told her they didn’t want a primary and how they urged her not to run.In that moment, she says, she knew she had to run. Washington doesn’t get to choose who represents a district, the voters do. Emily ran to give people a choice!No matter what happens in this primary, I will be forever grateful to Emily Berge for her courageous campaign. She gave me hope, and she was always there to listen to my concerns.
