Both France and Germany are switching from US tech surveillance company, Palantir to French firm ChapsVision, citing a need for digital sovereignty amid security concerns over sensitive data being easily accessed by the US govt. France is also moving away from all Microsoft platforms, preferring to use software they have developed and can control. The push to divest from Microsoft was accelerated after the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor lost access to his Microsoft email account after the Trump administration sanctioned him for issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes.Guest: Océane Herrero, reporter for POLITICO in Paris.Producer: Catherine Zengerer
