Why God Doesn’t Fix Your Problems | Homily for the Fifth Sunday of Lent

from At the Lamb’s High Feast · host Fr. Timothy Eck

Homily for the Fifth Week of Lent on March 22, 2026. At the raising of Lazarus, Christ is not simply solving a problem, He is revealing the glory of God. This moment exposes a deeper crisis: do we see God as one who serves our lives, or as the One in whom all life finds its meaning? The Gospel calls us to move from a closed, “fleshly” vision of reality to a sacramental vision where even suffering becomes a place of encounter with God and forces us to decide how we will see Him.   Mass Readings: First Reading: Ezekiel 37:12-14 Psalm: Psalm 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 Second Reading: Romans 8:8-11 Verse Before the Gospel: John 11:25a, 26 Gospel: John 11:1-45   Links: Readings Link: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/032226.cfm Site: https://verbumcaro.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@AttheLambsHighFeast
