an exciting day it's been. Okay, maybe not so much. Hello everyone, welcome to the Daily Grateful, I'm Michael Croson today, among other things. And believe me, there's been a lot of other things, was hook up new internet service day.

Okay, that's what it was. Hook up new internet service day. Yeah, sounds easy, right? Used to be the guy who shows up at the house or the woman on the door, and they come in, and they hook all this up, and they go outside, and they do all this stuff, and sometimes they crawl up and they add it and do all this stuff.

But not now, not now, no, no. Guy shows up in the truck. I guess he showed up in a truck. He may have showed up in an MG Magic for all I know, because I wasn't here.

I was out doing a bunch of unnecessary stuff all day on day. Anyway, shows up, goes out, opens up the little box, opens up the little box for the other cable company that I used to have, while that I had until he showed up, and he rips all that guy's stuff out. Okay, disconnects them, shuts it all thing back up, opens up his little thing, and then hooks it all up outside, and then he leaves, oh, and he left at my door, a self-install kit, filled with all kinds of easy to understand instructions. Okay, got it done.

All right, there's still more to do. Got this computer in the studio working, that's good. Got the television in the living room working, that's good. Got the iPad working, that's good.

Got the phone working, the iPhone working, that's working. So that's all good. I got more stuff to hook up, oh, got Alexa in the other room, hooked up, but I don't have Alexa in my bedroom hooked up, and there's two computers in my bedroom that need to be hooked up. Why do I have two computers in my bedroom?

Actually, if you count Alexa, I have three. Wait a minute, I have four. Yeah, I have four computers in my bedroom. Why?

Why do I do this? Anyway, last night I went to a really nice presentation at the Palm Harbor Public Library, put on by a guy by the name of Tony Rockliff. Rockliff, I always mispronounce his name, all about YouTube, which was very interesting, and what Tony does, he's a specialist in AI, and I said, yeah, I've been to several of his seminars, and he's quite good, and I was talking to him last night, and I was talking to this other woman that was there last night, and the other woman said, well, what is your podcast about? I said, well, a podcast is about gratitude, it's called The Daily Grateful.

Well, why is gratitude important? I said, what? She goes, why is gratitude important? That's a good question, I'm gonna tell you something.

Life can really suck. You know that life can really suck. And for me personally, I've had some really sucky days here recently, but the more I shift my focus to gratitude, the more I understand that what is missing and what is a blessing already exist. Does that make sense?

Gratitude fuels happiness. It just does. Instead of dwelling on the negativity, it is so good to concentrate on happiness. So, you know, it just is, you have to do that.

It strengthens relationships, and when you express appreciation to someone, you're showing them gratitude, they feel good. It makes their tummy feel good. It makes it go wiggly wiggly. It boosts resilience, and it helps you, I'm telling you.

It helps you find hope, even in the tough crappy-ass times. And we all go through crappy-ass times, we all do. There's always something good every day. There's always something, you know, you can always find something good to help balance off the crap.

But gratitude, looking for gratitude, it really just boosts you, even in the crappy times. Practicing gratitude reduces stress and anxiety, and I've been going through the anxiety. A lot more than I thought, actually. Over the weekend, I think I had like a giant panic attack.

This has happened once before. The last time it happened, I called 911, because I had chest pains, I was having trouble breathing, I was in pain, and the paramedics showed up here at three o'clock in the morning, and they ran an EKG on me. They actually, they ran three EKGs on me. Said, your heart's perfect.

You have anxiety. You're stressed out. And I said, yes. And they said, be so grateful that you do not have a bad heart.

Be grateful for that. I said, yeah. OK. We're canceling the ambulance now.

You don't want the ambulance to come, because if that comes, you're going to get this big bill. I said, OK. And when you're grateful, you know what? You encourage generosity and kindness.

And if there's something I've learned with my son, Zach, being kind to people and helping people, really pays off wonderfully. Makes us feel good. Gratitude makes us appreciate the little things, making life feel much, much, much better. So let's go through this again real quickly, because we have less than a minute.

Gratitude shifts your focus from what you could be missing to the blessings of all the stuff that you already have. It feels happiness. It strengthens relationships. It boosts resilience.

Practicing gratitude reduces stress and anxiety. And I need that. Don't you? I certainly do.

It encourages generosity. And it helps you appreciate all those little things in your life. Tomorrow is going to be a damn good day. I hope you are grateful for what's coming.

I am, and I don't even know what it is yet. See you tomorrow.
