What Would Jeff Do? Dog Training Tip of the Dayy #151 Why i don't use vibrate mode on the remote collar. first if you use it, that does not make it right or wrong, but lots of folks have told me and also from my experience as well, that it freaks out the dogs, agreed, it can be actually too much for a dog and confusing. It also does not fit into our pressure on and off theory of dog training. If you are using it because it sounds "gentler or less mean" to a dog, than that may be just your perception, i have seen dogs pee themselves after hitting the vibrate mode or hunker down in fear after hitting the vibrate mode..so there goes that theory. Personally I like to teach dogs with the stim/shock setting and with the remotes we use from Ecollar Technology, we can whisper or shout to a dog with the remote, without me changing any of my calm energy.
