Why is Adam Ondra so good at cracks?

Why is Adam Ondra good at crack climbing, without really ever dedicating himself to it? The obvious answer would be "because he's one of the best climbers in the world...." However, we've coached many of the best climbers in the world on cracks and not all of them had the same flare as Adam did for the jams.
