Why is PCOS getting a new name?

from The Daily Aus · host The Daily Aus

After more than a decade of research and campaigning, one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women around the world has been given a new name. PCOS – Polycystic Ovary Syndrome –  is now called Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome. The change is in part thanks to Australian led research out of Monash University. Today, we're going to explain what this condition actually is, why the name has changed, and what it means for the millions of people living with it.
