Why is PCOS getting a new name?

After more than a decade of research and campaigning, one of the most common hormonal conditions affecting women around the world has been given a new name. PCOS – Polycystic Ovary Syndrome –  is now called Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome. The change is in part thanks to Australian led research out of Monash University.
