Why Kids Rebel and What to do About it (Come Follow Me: Alma 23-29)

from Inner Strength Insights with Jamie Knapp: Scriptural Insights for Latter-Day Life · host Jamie Knapp

Sometimes I feel rebellious.   Like when there's a rule that doesn't make sense. Why should I follow it?   Or when something isn't fair. I deserve what is mine, right?   Rebellion gets a pretty bad rap. Really, though, we all feel it at times. It's normal.   So, why does God condemn it? Because rebellion against HIM hurts us, and His job is to save us.   Yep. That's why. He can't help us if we won't let him.   How does he get us to let him? He lets us EXPERIENCE his power working INSIDE of us.   That's when we know it works. That's when we CHOOSE to let him in.   In this week's podcast episode, I talk about rebellion and how God's way of managing his rebellious children (sometimes me) can give us insight and hope as we experience flecks of rebellion (or more than that) with our own kids....no matter how wonderful they are.
