Emmy-nominated Producer and Broadway Director Kenneth Ferrone (Smash) joins Robert Peterpaul on The Art of Kindness for a conversation about the power of listening, the importance of community, and what happens when creative teams genuinely support one another. As producer, Kenneth has been behind landmark live television events, including the Emmy-winning Grease Live!, Rent, and Annie Live! In scripted television, he has produced the series SMASH, Rise, Ironside, and Deception on NBC, and he has overseen global production for Echo 3 on Apple TV+. His work extends to feature film (Poor Behavior), immersive experiences (Broadway 4D), and award-winning shorts (Hey Beautiful). On stage, Kenneth has built a dynamic career directing and developing original musicals and boldly imagined new works. He directed the world premiere of The Wanderer, and the musical adaptation of Prelude to a Kiss. His credits include the Off-Broadway hit Rolling Thunder, the first national tour of Cruel Intentions: The 90’s Musical, and collaborations on projects ranging from intimate new works to major productions in development for Broadway, including a slate of new musicals, most notably Charming and Better Days. He has also been a key creative force behind acclaimed Broadway productions as the associate director of SpongeBob SquarePants, Floyd Collins, Mother Play, Redwood, and Love Letters. His Off-Broadway directing work includes Sistas, Lucie Pohl: Hi, Hitler, and Colin Quinn’s The New York Story. A graduate of Northwestern University, Kenneth is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the Producers Guild of America, and the Television Academy.
