Why Meaningful Connection is Our Lifeblood

from Living with Purpose · host Simone Denny

Never before has it been so clear to me that meaningful connection is one of THE most important things you can do for your mental and physical health. If only, when we visited a doctor or a therapist, there was a question about your meaningful relationships; about how connected you are feeling to others or if you are feeling alone or isolated in certain parts of your life. These simple questions could add years to your life, could help you find new solutions to anxiety and depression and could provide valuable insights into things like inflammation in the body and heart disease. All of which are related to loneliness and not feeling connected.  Recent research has demonstrated loneliness can increase your likelihood of mortality by up to 25%! This is equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day and is more of a threat than obesity.  In the podcast today I share about the importance of meaningful connection, the impact of loneliness and provide 6 research-backed ways to create more connection in your life.  In the words of Johann Hari, ’people need tribes like bees need hives’.  Connect with me: www.simonedenny.me facebook.com/simonedennycoaching instagram.com/simonedennycoaching [email protected]
